About
My real name is Steve Gold (did I just violate a law of blogging?). My aim is to provide an unconventional perspective on all things political which is fiercely honest and reasonable, in the hopes that we can develop a more sane political culture.
Reasonableness is the touchstone of so much of our jurisprudence, and yet is nearly absent from our politics. It is an approach which focuses not on the ethereal concepts of truth and righteousnous, but rather it honors our common values and mores. What we can all agree on, goes. Turns out, this more closely approximates justice than any political ideology.
Our political landscape needs more reasonableness - honesty about what we all know to be true. Reasonableness has the potential to restore the dignity of politicians, gap the growing divide between liberal and conservative, and cure voter apathy.
